Classic Image was proud to participant in the 2011 Auto Laundry News Detailing survey. Auto Laundry News is a monthly publication dedicated to the car care industry with a comprehensive, user-friendly buyer’s guide. Every year, they publish a survey on the state of the industry after speaking with vendors from across the country.
Classic was 1 of only 107 nationwide detailers to take participate, and the only mobile detailing service in the large, year-round Phoenix metro detailing market. Classic was chosen because of its long-standing A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and its length of time in business (since 1989).
The study revealed only about 37% of the businesses polled experienced an increase in overall sales compared to 2009. In contrast 32% experienced a decrease from 2009 and the remaining 31% remaining consistent with the previous year.
Classic Image was among the group with relatively flat sales, a category owner Scott Bryan feels comfortable with, crediting their durability to a loyal customer base and great customer service. “I am so greatful to our loyal and long term customers without whom we would have experienced a more significant drop in sales” said Scott.
Looking forward, 20% of the businesses polled expect to expand their car care businesses during the next 12 months. Classic Image hopes to grow as well, but plans to move forward with a simple but effective idea: Great customer service and a fair price point – a strategy Scott is sure will ensure continuing success for another 20 years.
