Car Waxing Frequency - Protecting your car finish and keeping your vehicle looking new

The question often comes up, "How often should I wax my car"? We think it's a great topic, especially when it comes to protecting your vehicle from the harsh Arizona climate.

There is no exact answer because there are a number of variables to consider. However, a good rule to follow is wax your vehicle every ten washes or every 3 months, which ever comes first.

During hot summer months, your car's paint is taking more abuse. This generally will wear down your protective wax coating, so you may want to shorten periods between waxes. If your car is parked uncovered in the hot sun all summer, we recommend waxing it every month to ensure long paint life and a new car look.

Mechanical car washes use harsh chemicals (they need to to get your car clean as fast as possible) will also accelerate the life of your wax, so try to use hand-washes or wax every six weeks or five washes.

You can also have your car sealed with paint sealants that will last longer than wax and offer protection against harsh car wash chemicals.

The bottom line is to make sure your paint is protected as much as possible, so adjust your car wax schedule accordingly.
